One bushel of apples, no sugar please, made into applesauce
Friday: made a pumpkin roll for the company I assumed I would be having. Went & got groceries for the dinner I assumed someone would surely attend! Touched up the house a bit & deep cleaned a bit, scrubbed the fridge, threw out all the old & organized all my new stuff :0) I also realized that I needed to scrub the grout in the kitchen b/c that is why it was turning yucky not b/c thats just how it is also scrubbed the entries into each room b/c I realized that, that is dirty & not just how it gets when you live in a 90 year old house...Soooo I then prepared dinner smothered chicken (chicken breasts topped w/ & in order colby cheese, sautéed onion w/ brown sugar glaze & 2 bacon strips) cheesy-garlic mashed potatoes, peas & rolls. We ate alone. Mom funk came later around 8 & hung around a while as I tried to feed her my pumpkin roll & my pumpkin choc. chip cookies I then got her to take a lot home, even better.
Saturday: Went to champaign, I was supposed to meet an old friend but we didn't communicate in time so better luck next time. We met mom at the Courier for lunch & then dusty took oliver back to her house & we went & got pedicure's thanks to my lovely brother kurt & girlfriend leslie for our mother's day gift. We then headed back home, made homemade pizza & u. dennie and a. cheryl joined us :0) It was a delightful evening as oliver showed off for everyone.
Sunday: we went to church, came home an hour & a half later went to a church picnic, drove home, got home & organized all of our stuff!
Monday: got up, took care of oliver which was especially trying since he did NOT want to take a nap that morning, we cleaned & picked up some groceries for Bible study that night. We left around 11 to pick up the twins at preschool & I worked until 3:30 then I thought it would be nice to go visit abram & nana's so I called to see if he was there "yes" is he awake "yes" alrighty so we went there for a little bit. Ran to the store again for some reason...came home made dinner, tidied up a bit & hosted Bible study!
Tuesday: Took care of Oliver, he napped very well so I got lots done in the morning! Once again I spruced up the place, cleaned the kitchen, washed all the rags, towels & rugs and hung them out to dry, made some croutons & made applesauce! The applesauce was amazing! I got the apples from a. cheryl & they are so tasty that we added no sugar, hence the heading :0) we then went out to lunch w/ cousin Mellisa, ran some more errands, came home & prepared for my company tonight the Krishnan's. Ashok's parents are visiting from India! It was a blessing having them all over, they sure loved Oliver but Oliver was a little hesitant. Now I am sitting here writing this blog & I am tired....Perhaps we will watch the rest of the movie we started last night?
The next two days I work & have plans in the evening & friday is my day off! (which I am sure will be filled with something)
I am starting to realize more & more that my most prominent gift is hospitality & so w/ this knowledge I intend to use it & not waste something so precious!
Goodnight, sleep tight & don't let those bed bugs bite!! :0)
you definitely have the gift of entertaining...something you did not receive from your mother!! it was great having you home..
ReplyDeleteI made applesauce yesterday too!! But I added plenty of sugar to mine :( It sounds like you've been busy!
